They are not to be used for copying or distributing copyrighted material owned by others, including, but not limited to the use of peer-to peer file sharing or Bit Torrent files. Many of these files contain viruses and malware which will harm the workstations. You will be held responsible for all damages done to the workstations from violation of this rule.
  • Nova Southeastern University and the Alvin Sherman Library do not oversee and are not responsible for the content of your projects. It is your responsibility to insure that all the material contained in the project meet all applicable legal standards, such as laws regarding copyright, trademark, libel, slander, obscenity, child pornography, etc.
  • Patrons should save their work to a flash drive, or online personal storage services. Do not save your project to the workstation itself.
  • The workstations are available to the public. Any information left on the machines will be accessible by the patrons that follow you. Please move your project and related components to the trash/recycle bin and empty it when you are done.
  • Patrons are responsible for the maintenance of the room and all items contained within it when it is checked out to them. This includes the workstations, the Whisper room, all technology components and furniture. Any damage should be reported immediately upon entering the room, not at the end of the session.
  • Patrons are not allowed to modify system hardware configurations or install software.
  • No food or drinks allowed in the Digital Media Lab with the exception of capped water bottles.
  • Patrons must allocate at least 15 minutes prior to the end of the session to finalize their project, remove any personal files from the machines, return all equipment back to where it was upon entering the room, pack up any technology equipment that was checked out, turn off the lights, close the door, and return keys to the Circulation Desk.
