What are Medcom Streaming Videos?

Medcom is a streaming video collection within the ProQuest Nursing and Allied Health Source database. Medcom provides access to licensed educational streaming videos on nursing and related health care topics.

The NSU Libraries subscribe to ProQuest Nursing and Allied Health Source database, and our license allows current NSU students, faculty, staff, and administrators to access the database (and the Medcom videos within them) on and off campus, 24/7. 

Benefits of Medcom Streaming Videos:

  • Link within Blackboard! - Easily link video segments into Blackboard using the permanent link provided. 
  • No Need for DVD/VHS Players! - Videos are accessed instantly through any computer with a high-speed Internet connection. 
  • Create Personal Video Playlists! - Select, save, and organize video segments or full videos into your personal user account for easy access. Plan ahead for your fully online, hybrid, and/or face-to-face classes. 
  • Citations Provided! - A built-in citation tool generates a citation, allowing your students to properly give credit when using videos in assignments and projects.
