Library Hours

Beginning on August 1, 2019: 

Library Hours:

Monday - Sunday: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. 

Please note that the Circulation Desk closes at 9:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday; 4:00 p.m. Friday - Sunday.

Circulation Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday - Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

Reference Hours: Monday - Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Reading Days/Exams and Limited Access for Non-Law Students:  

Library Hours: Monday - Sunday: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. 

Beginning November 18, 2019, and going through December 10, 2019, and beginning April 6, 2020, and going through May 1, 2020, the library will have limited access for non-law students. Non-law students will only be permitted seating on the 2nd floor directly in front of the circulation desk. 

The Law Library Will Be Closed:

  • Monday, September 2, 2019 (Labor Day)
  • Thursday, November 28, 2019 - Friday, November 29, 2019 (Thanksgiving)
  • Saturday, December 21, 2019 - Wednesday, January 1, 2020 (reopening Thursday, January 2, 2020) (Winter Closure)
  • Monday, January 20, 2020 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)
  • Monday, May 25, 2020 (Memorial Day)
  • Friday, July 3, 2020 (Independence Day)

Reference Desk Hours


Regular Reference Desk hours are offered at these times:  Monday – Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

During regular Reference Desk Hours, the Reference Desk may be staffed by a law librarian or law student Research & Reference Assistant.  On-call services will be provided on weekdays according to the Reference Desk Schedule.  Additional reference hours are available to NSU patrons.  NSU patrons may request a reference appointment by completing the online Reference Appointment Form.  The request is received by the Assistant Director, Research & Reference and the Senior Associate Director and then assigned to a librarian.  Patrons should expect to be contacted within two business days from the day the request is received.
 
During the summer semester and other designated times, Reference Desk services will be offered on-call.  When on-call Reference Desk services are provided, patrons should visit the Circulation Desk to request help from a law librarian.  The Circulation Desk will contact a law librarian to provide assistance if one is available.  If a law librarian is not available during scheduled hours, patrons can request help in the following ways:
