Get Started with Basic Research: Using the Library

This guide provides an introductory overview of how to use library resources as well as tips for researching information and citing sources.

Learning Outcomes:

The purpose of this library guide is to provide an introduction on using the NSU Libraries to find information.  After reviewing this guide, you will learn how to:

  • receive library instruction via Ask A Librarian, Library Learn, and Library Guides
  • identify and evaluate information sources
  • find books in NovaCat and articles in databases
  • develop effective search strategies with keywords and Boolean operators
  • avoid plagiarism by citing sources
